Here’s an amazing deal that’s almost too good to be true. Surely it’s a mistake. Amazon is offering the Absolute Edition of Darwyn Cooke’s fantastic DC: The New Frontier — one of the best comics in the past few years — for only $12.99. That’s 82% off the cover price. That’s less than you’d pay for the trade paperbacks.
This may be my favorite comic that I’ve read in the past year. It started slowly, but once it hooked me, I was hooked hard. Absolute New Frontier will not be published until October, but you can pre-order it now.
What happens if this price is a mistake? Will Amazon cancel the orders? I don’t know, but it’s worth the risk. This is a great comic series being collected in a great format.

It looks like someone already noticed, as the price appears to have disappeared.
Several people commented in the forum for this item, too. It’ll be interesting to see what Amazon does.
That said, I remember thumbing through the series when it was first published, and had a hard time getting past the art style, which I didn’t like at all, so I passed on it.

A quick update: Absolute Sandman was also available for $15 for a short while. I ordered it, too.
On Sunday I got an e-mail from Amazon saying, “Whoops! We made a mistake. You can’t have these at that price. Your order has been cancelled.” That’s what I thought would happend, but it was worth a shot!
