An auto show from 1921 in today’s Gasoline Alley.

Our first feature is the 29 January 1921 Gasoline Alley strips scanned from Walt & Skeezix vol. 1 the Drawn and Quarterly Publications reprint volume from last year. (Click the thumbnail to open a larger version in a new window.)

There are several interesting things about this Gasoline Alley panel. First, we get to see a car salesman in action in 1921. Second, this looks to be a car show of some kind, just like the auto shows we attend nowadays. Third, we can see that car haggling has been going essentially since Day One.

Here’s a Krazy Kat daily gag from 1911 or 1912. (Click the thumbnail to open a larger version in a new window.)

I believe that the above strips are in the Public Domain.
